Printmaking. He has worked in the medium of collage since 1982.  Plowman’s art has

His work has appeared in numerous publications, including The New York Times,
USA Today, How Design and The Artist’s Magazine.  In addition to teaching
workshops and classes in printmaking and collage, he is also writing and curating a
book featuring the work of over 45 collage artists, for Sterling Publishing. It is due out
May 2010. Plowman currently lives and works in the Northern Kentucky area.

Artist Statement: The materials that I use in my work are often fragments of modern
day detritus that allude to society’s mass consumerism and disposable mentality. I
am fascinated with taking disparate items and removing them from their original
context and rebuilding them in unexpected ways. I find beauty, mystery and hidden
strengths in the unwanted.  Most of my imagery is culled from a wide range of
sources. My visual lexicon is composed of diverse images gleaned from old books,
maps, dictionaries and other ephemera.

The installation will remain on exhibit from April 3 - 24, 2009. Gallery hours are 10 am
to 6 pm Tuesday through Friday, 11 am to 3 pm Saturdays.
